one good thing about internet for humanity is that is increased the availability of self help infomation, if not in percentage but surley in terms of quantity wise surely got increased before internet was available.

there such increase in quanity should increase the people who learn for the whole life.

however, it also increase the availiability of wrong things like pornography, media, sensation things but not important, therefore, the muber of people who stops learning for life also increase.

thus, the point here is which effect is larger, that will determine the net result of the creation of internet.
